Supply Chain

"61% of clothing companies don't know where their garments were made"

Something that is non-negotiable for us at Verdigris is transparency so we want to be upfront about our supply chain so you can see exactly how your clothes were made. Because hot girls know where their clothes came from xx

  • Fabric Sourcing

    - All our fabrics are sourced in the UK and Europe in order to decrease travel pollution and our carbon footprint.

    - We only use sustainable fabrics (such as GOTS organic cotton or Tencel wood pulp) or deadstock fabrics (waste fabrics that would otherwise end up in landfill).

    - We order in small quantities so as to minimise wastage, only ordering what we need, and working out exactly how much fabric is required to make each item.

  • Design

    - All our clothes are designed by our founder Caitriona (Cat) Gurrie in London.

    - Creating mood boards for inspiration, she then mocks up design drawings by hand and transfers them directly to Adobe Illustrator.

    - She then creates Tech Packs for each item, with design specifications, measurements, and inspiration, all the way down to the very last stitch.

    - Lastly, she works with the manufacturer to make these designs into a reality.

  • Manufacturing

    - All our clothes are manufactured in a factory just outside of London, in Bedford.

    - It is a female owned and run factory, with a team of talented seamstresses - 8 employees.

    - They use recycled threads, ranging from recycled polyester to recycled PET bottles.

    - Our founder visits the factory regularly and works directly with the garment technologist during fittings to ensure we get the best fit on all our clothing - something we wouldn’t be able to do if we manufactured overseas.

    - We believe it's important to support small businesses and contribute to the UK economy.

    - Manufacturing in the UK is also more sustainable - it means we lower our carbon footprint as transport between factory and distribution is under a 1 hour drive.

    - It does make our items a little more expensive but we believe it pays for itself in product quality and protecting the environment.
